Donny Hacker spent nearly 20 years in federal and local law enforcement with a number of different agencies. During that time, Donny experienced life altering events which would eventually shape him into the person he is today.
Donny discovered a passion for writing and Buddhism which eventually brought him into contact with a Theravāda Buddhist monk in 2015,
Ānandajoti Bhikkhu. Ven. Ānandajoti works to preserve ancient and classical Buddhist texts along with historical research on Buddhism. Donny began assisting Ven. Ānandajoti with his work on ancient and classical texts so that they could be made available, free of charge, for anyone who wished to read and study them.
Donny is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in psychology and criminology. Donny is currently teaching U.S. History and English at Salam Academy in Texas.
Donny's interests include writing, art, music, equality, environmentalism, and education.
